Michael Cloutier


Mr. Cloutier is currently a partner with Mirador Global, LP which specializes in successfully helping small and mid-sized bio-pharma companies commercially develop and launch products worldwide. Mr. Cloutier is past Vice President and General Manager of PTC Therapeutics and past President of InterMune Inc. Prior to his appointment at Merus Labs, Mr. Cloutier was the CEO of the Canadian Diabetes Association from 2010 to 2013 and was the CEO of Critical Outcomes Technology Inc. From 2003 to 2008, Mr. Cloutier held several executive roles with AstraZeneca including the CEO of Canadian operations and VP, HR, Global Marketing at the corporate headquarters in London, England. Other leadership roles include President of Pharmacia Canada from 2000 to 2003 and President of Searle Canada from 1998 to 2000.

Barry Fishman

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Fishman has over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and is the former CEO of Teva Canada. During his tenure at Teva Canada, Mr. Fishman executed a growth plan that resulted in a five-fold increase in revenue through acquisitions and organic growth. Mr. Fishman is also the past Chair of the Canadian Generic Manufacturers Association. Previously, as CEO of Taro Canada, Mr. Fishman tripled sales through organic growth and market expansion in the form of a new private label division and the establishment of a new branded dermatology business. He began his pharmaceutical career at Eli Lilly, where he advanced through several cross-functional leadership roles, including Vice President of Marketing.

Theresa Firestone

Ms. Firestone is currently Senior Vice President, Healthcare Businesses with Shoppers Drug Mart where she is responsible for providing overall leadership to several business units including MediSystem Pharmacies, Specialty Health Network, Sanis Health, Pharmaceutical Partnerships and Shoppers Home Healthcare retail outlets. Prior to joining Shoppers, Theresa was Regional President, Emerging Markets Asia with Pfizer Inc, a position she held for three years located in Shanghai and Hong Kong. Theresa joined Pfizer as Vice President Government and Public Affairs, Canada and held several roles with Pfizer including Country Manager of Pfizer Austria and General Manager of the Established Products Business Unit in Canada. Theresa has extensive healthcare experience and a strong track record of success in pharmaceuticals, healthcare management, distribution and specialty retail. She also held senior roles in the Ontario government and has worked with not-for-profit organizations.

Robert Bloch, MD

Dr. Bloch is a European-based pharmaceutical industry veteran with a proven track record of leading profitable growth in global markets. Dr. Bloch has more than 16 years of leadership experience with global pharmaceutical companies, including 7 years at Hoffmann-La Roche, based in Switzerland where he was most recently Vice President, Global Head - Established Products. In parallel he acted as a valued member of the Basel Site Management Team and the Business Insights and Operations Leadership Team. Before joining Roche, Dr. Bloch advanced through several leadership roles at Schering-Plough and Wyeth. At Schering-Plough, Dr. Bloch led the global Oncology business out of the United States for two years. Dr. Bloch has a track record of maximizing value from both, early phase and established products, having a vast business development network. As a member of the UNICEF Switzerland executive team, he leads institutional fundraising.

David Guebert

Mr. Guebert is a Chartered Professional Accountant (C.A. – Alberta) and Certified Public Accountant (Pennsylvania) with over 35 years of experience in finance and accounting, 25 of which include service as Chief Financial Officer of public and private companies in the resource and technology sectors. He has held the role of the Chief Financial Officer of Primary Corp., a merchant banking company since 2007 and since 2016 has been the Chief Financial Officer of Zaio Corporation, a technology company. He also serves on the audit and finance committees of the Calgary Stampede and of Winsport Canada. Mr. Guebert holds a B.Comm. from the University of Saskatchewan.

Tim Sorensen

Mr. Sorensen is a Director and the President of Primary Capital Inc., an exempt market dealer. He joined Primary Capital from Macquarie Capital Markets Canada where he served as Divisional Director and Head of Institutional Sales. Prior to its acquisition by Macquarie Bank, Mr. Sorensen was a partner and Vice President of Institutional Equity Sales at Orion Financial. Mr. Sorensen has over 20 years of capital markets experience in institutional sales and equity analysis. He currently serves on the boards of Carrot Insights and Grapes for Humanity. He has a CFA designation and holds an MBA and B.Comm both from the University of Windsor.

Robert Pollock

Mr. Pollock has over 20 years of experience in the Canadian capital markets with specific experience in merchant banking, institutional sales, and investment banking. He is Director and Chief Executive Officer of Primary Capital Inc., an exempt market dealer. Mr. Pollock holds an MBA from St. Mary's University and a BA from Queen's University. .
